spring break I

Hi friends!  I've been gone for a while, I know.  But we were all thoroughly enjoying our Spring Break.  Our first stop on our trip was French Lick, Indiana.  Which really doesn't seem like much of a destination since it is not close to anything, and has a middle of nowhere feel.  But there does happen to be 2 historic hotels in the area that are just so beautiful.  They have turned them into resorts that are actually very family friendly.  We stayed in the West Baden hotel, famous for it's mineral springs that used to be considered "restorative."  We didn't bathe in cold spring water, but we definitely felt restored after a couple days relaxing here.  The hotel lobby is a massive dome structure with an ornate design at the pinnacle, that just happens to change colors at night.  The littles loved it.  We would lie on the floor right under the middle of the dome, and our whispers would echo loudly throughout the room.  I'm sure the other guests just loved us.
The grounds outside were just gorgeous, and I would love to come back and see it in actual Spring, because all we got was snow.  Still beautiful, but I know these flower gardens have to be stunning.
I'll be catching up with the rest of our Spring Break week this week.  I have a lot to share!  I hope you all had a wonderful Easter.  We spent ours driving back home, but we were happy to be sleeping in our own beds again last night.

  4. It's so cool finding places off the beaten path. And it appears that French Lick is somewhat of a "hidden gem." The hotel looks beautiful. I love seeing old/refurbished places like that, and such a fun stay you guys had. Glad you got back safe and sound, loving the pictures so far!
