so much

So much to do.  It has been a bit of a hectic week, and I feel like my wheels are spinning.  I've been getting ready for Rowan's birthday party this weekend (!) and for my parents to visit.  We haven't seen my parents since Christmas, so I'm pretty excited to see them.  But with visitors there are always beds to make, towels to wash, etc. because I forgot to do it after our last guests.

We've been working on our garden.  We may have been a little overzealous about our seed and plant purchasing, and I may have over estimated the size of our garden.  Well, we packed it in with vegetables and other odds and ends, so I'm hoping something will come up!
Brian roto tilled out the garden, and we've all helped plant it in.  I'm excited!  And only a little dismayed at the thought of pulling weeds on a daily basis.

Spring has been beautiful lately, so the littles want to be outside as much as possible.  So I've been enjoying everything blooming around us.  The wisteria is just gorgeous to me (and to the bees) and I'm sorry to say the blossoms have mostly been blown down.  I wish my blog was scratch and sniff, because these smell so so good.
I've been cleaning up a lot, working on little somethings to send out to people, and listening to a lot of Johnny Cash.  I can't say why, but he really gets me into a "work" frame of mind.
And most of all, I keep pausing in my day to take in my little girl.  Rowan is turning 3 on Sunday, Mother's Day.  So my baby is definitely a little girl now.  I keep hugging and kissing her, and she's been letting me more than usual, as if to say, "It's ok, mama.  I will still let you hug and kiss me for a little while longer."
How about forever, little one?

  1. Wow! Great picture of Rowan - it's like she's a child model with that lip pout thing she's got going on. Have an excellent birthday weekend. And as always, I look forward to seeing the pictures next week!!

  2. Firstly, Love the Johnny Cash. I think it's awesome that he motivates you! He was my Grandpa Charlie's fave! Nextly, I can't believe that "sweet baby Rowan" is going to be 3! I just held her at your parent's house when she was less than 2 months old! Geesh. But I love being her birthday buddy. Except it's not that awesome that you have to tack a '5' on to my '3.' Have a great Mother's Day birthday weekend of love! I know I will! xoxo

  3. Woot Johnny Cash!! I can't wait to see what you make of your garden. I'm eternally trying to figure out how to create something remotely attractive looking in our sad little garden and could use all the inspiration I can get!

  6. Good for you guys for doing all that work on the garden. We are looking lazy over here.

We are also preparing for company this weekend, and I'm really wishing I wouldn't let the chores pile up so!

You completed another beautiful project! And I'm loving the Johnny Cash and the record player. I want a little record player that I can move around the house as desired!

    Have a great weekend!
