I am going to miss when Fletcher understands what is and isn't "cool" for a boy. He already asks about pink. "Only girls like pink, right, mama?" I tell him no, boys like pink too sometimes, but he looks at me with a skeptical eye. I sigh. And I tell him that some people think only girls like pink, but colors belong to everyone. It can be confusing to be a 4 year old.
These fairy wings are blue, so Fletcher decided they were for a boy. I love his logic.
So cute!!
ReplyDeleteI love that Rowan can't be without the tutu's lately. I wish it was socially acceptable for boys to wear them. I find them to be nearly the most adorable thing on earth. And I like your comment that "colors belong to everyone". So smart... so right.
ReplyDeleteI have a picture with my two in tutus... a treasure for sure!
ReplyDeleteAh so adorable! I'm such a fan of fairies and I think fairy wings definately belong to everyone... maybe y'all can do this as an all family Halloween costume- I for one would love to see your husband in a pair of those wings ;)
ReplyDeleteLove that kid! And you always have good responses to child questions. TEACH ME.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter thinks all the pink plastic dishes belong to her. But I notice my son likes to use them. I don't think he would wear pink though. :)

Definitely need a boy and a girl fairy because, well, then how else did fairies get here? Teehee. You can tell him about the fairies in Peter Pan...you can't see them, they're just balls of light. Somehow I think Fletcher would fancy that. When he starts really liking movies, we all loved the classic Mary Martin version of Peter Pan. Such a fun and wonderful age he is. Good job, Mama. Your response was perfect.
ReplyDeletekid logic is precious I wish you could bottle it for there teenage years
ReplyDeletehow sweet they think at that age
ReplyDeleteHahaha! These are awesome. Andrew's moving into the questions for everything phase and it's kind of stressing me out. I'm afraid it's only going to get harder. ::sigh::
